This picture is from The National Archives and shows rows of frame houses in a hilly area of Pittsburgh. The background of the picture shows smoke-shrouded throughout the city. This picture was taken in the year 1940. The smoke in the back of the city can be seen as pollution from the factories and industries.

  1. I think that today cities have done a much better job with keeping polution down which makes it nicer to look at and better for the enviornment
